As an Oregon native, Ali was raised in the same environment that inspires her today. After graduating from the Western Culinary Institute, a love of travel and desire to learn from the best led her to New York City and Atera, a two Michelin starred restaurant under the leadership of Matthew Lightner. After her time at Atera she staged her way through New York and Seattle before returning to Portland where she draws her inspiration from farmers, their produce, and the ability to forage year round. She is currently half the kitchen at Portland Monthly's Rising Star of the Year, Nomad.pdx.
