Benjamin moved to Portland to attend the Western Culinary institute. His dedication and leadership landed him at Paley's Place where commitment and hard work resulted in a promotion to chef de cuisine. meanwhile, the restaurant received numerous accolades, including a james beard award. in 2011 ben was vitaly Paley's sous chef in a victory on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. The two later opened Imperial. He is currently executive chef of Laurelhurst Market.
