Han started cooking in the DC metro area at the age of 16. After moving to Portland He began focusing on Korean cuisine and in 2009 opened Kim Jong Grillin, a Korean BBQ food cart. After a few short months Kim Jong Grillin won the Judges choice award at the Eat Mobile food festival. The night after he won, Han was celebrating when a friend called to say his cart was on fire. the next couple of years eventually led Han to appear on Food Network's Chopped, where he was a finalist. Soon after the appearance, Kim Jong Grillin was reborn and named one of the Oregonian's Best New Food Carts. He has since opened a second location and frequently enjoys collaborating with chefs.
